Campfire Simulator

Privacy policy

For the game Campfire Simulator, made by JunkDrawerDev. Effective 27 September 2026.

Campfire Simulator is a virtual reality game for Meta Quest headsets, sold on the Meta Horizon Store. It is made for players aged 10 and up. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no chat and no online play, and it collects no personal information from anyone. Nothing about you is sent to us or to anyone else. The details are below.

What the game uses, and why

Your headset and controller movements

To show you the world and let you pick things up, the game reads where your headset and controllers are and which buttons you press. It uses this only on the headset, while you play. It isn't saved or sent anywhere.

Your Meta account's age group

Meta asks games made for both younger players (10 to 12) and older players to check the age group of the Meta account playing, each time the game starts. So when Campfire Simulator starts, it asks the headset for that account's age group: 10 to 12, 13 to 17, 18 and over, or unknown. This is all the game gets: never a name, a birthday, a user ID or anything else about the account.

The game's camp menu shows the answer on its Credits page, so you can see exactly what was checked.

Checking it's the Store version

When it starts, the game checks, on the headset, that it was opened from the Campfire Simulator app installed from the Meta Horizon Store (by looking at which app opened it and whether the Store's in-app service is there). Nothing is sent anywhere for this, and nothing about you is used.

What is kept on your headset

The game keeps a few settings on your headset, in the app's own local storage: the difficulty you picked, whether rain is on, and whether the comfort vignette is on. While you restart the camp from the menu, it also briefly keeps a note to go straight back into VR. It keeps a copy of the game's own files, so it can start without the internet. None of this identifies you, and none of it leaves the headset.

Downloading the game

The game's files come from campfire-simulator.pages.dev, which is hosted by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.). Like any website, the host's servers may briefly log technical details of each download, such as the IP address, the time and the type of browser. JunkDrawerDev doesn't use these logs, and doesn't use them to identify or track anyone. The host's own privacy policy is at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

Your headset, the Meta Horizon Store and your Meta account are run by Meta, under Meta's own privacy policy. This policy covers only the game.

What the game doesn't do

Children

Campfire Simulator is for players aged 10 and up, including children aged 10 to 12. We do not collect, use or share personal information from children, or from anyone else. The only thing the game learns about the player is their Meta account's age group, as described above; it stays on the headset and is forgotten when the game closes. Because we collect nothing, we have nothing to ask a parent's consent for, and nothing to hand over or delete. Parents and guardians are welcome to contact us with any question at the address below.

Deleting your data

Everything the game keeps is on your headset, so you can delete it yourself at any time, free:

We don't hold any information about you, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Anyone can still email us with questions or a deletion request, at no cost: (the contact address is being set up).

Changes to this policy

If the game ever starts using information in a new way, this page will be updated first, with a new date at the top.
